People from all over the world knows that there is a legendary NBA player from China called Yao Ming. Yao Ming has great physical advantages; he is 2.26 meters high, 140 kilograms and has great basketball talent. Through his hard working and united team, he became one of the best Center in the NBA history. In addition, he brought so many basketball fans from China to watch NBA, which made NBA become very popular on the other side of the world. Based on his basketball talents and his great contribution to the NBA. Finally he went to the NBA Hall of Fame.

 

After Yao Ming retired he still did so many meaningful things in China, in 2013, he became the member of the CPPC. He used his kindness and popularity and made many positive changes politically and socially. In 2017, March 3th, Yao Ming gave a formal speech in Beijing, and he mainly demonstrated the idea that ‘’Sports power is not just about gold medals, and the sports industry is not just about money’’. This speech affected the Chinese sports industry a lot, and they had a new notion about the importance of the Sports.

 

In 2015，Yao Ming officially became Beijing’s Olympic ambassador. The ambassador means celebrities who were successful in sports, and the country used their social influence and personality charm to carry out promotion and publicity work.

 

In 2016, this year was a significant year for Yao Ming. In April, he became the member of Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. He became the first Chinese who reached this award. Then, in October, he became the ‘’Chinese Mars ambassador’’. This award means people in China who have great positive influence. One month later, he became CBA vice chairman. He made great contribution to the CBA when he was on duty of the CBA vice chairman. For example, he attracted plenty of players from foreign countries to play games in CBA. This action was extremely important because it enhanced the popularity of CBA and affected Chinese teenagers to play basketball. In addition, Yao Ming used the fund of CBA to create schools for kids who were poor or living in the mountains. Yao Ming’s moves had positive effects not only in financial aspect, but also in social aspect.

 

In 2017, Yao Ming transferred his entire stake in Shanghai basketball team to others. The first reason was that he did not make his basketball team into the playoff season for a long time. Second, he did not have much time and efforts to make any improvement because he had other business to deal with. He wanted to give his stake and rights to other people who could be more responsible for this duty.

 

In 2018，Yao Ming was elected as the President of the Asian federation and central committee of the Asian basketball league. He is keeping making contribution to the basketball industry now.

 

In shorts, Yao Ming did lots of meaningful things after he retired. He is a man with great success in many different fields. He should be the role model for everyone in the world.
