Coronavirus (COVID-19) accelerates the transformation of the Chinese economic market. The ideas of digital transformation and industrial digitalization have long been a described coming future for the Chinese economic market; however, the epidemic is the time to test our preparation for the new economic generation of digitalization.
COVID-19 blocked people from outdoor activities in the early 2020 since they are supposed to stay at home to slow down the spread of the virus, and therefore, people are used to shopping online. As more and more people choose to shop online in this special period, online shopping and express delivery have not only been affected by the epidemic, but also has a boom on the revenue and increases the market share. Merchants need to build the relationship with both the raw material suppliers and the logistics company. The logistics company would play a more important role in the supply chain than ever before, and the talents in logistics would be in need.
Ning Jizhe, the deputy director of the National Development and Reform Commission and director of the National Bureau of Statistics, points out that in the first quarter in 2020, the new economy and new momentum have grown against the recession caused by the epidemic in the beginning of the year. Online shopping and express delivery are only two examples of the industries that benefited from the epidemic. In fact, the epidemic would be a catalyze that accelerates the adaption and further research on the information and digitalization. Online shopping, online studying or online office, and connected healthcare are all applications and innovations of the digital technology. Chinese government is making policy shifts to welcome the digitalization generation, such as support the new economy and new types of consumptions. With the first quarter of 2020 as a preparation for the new economic mode, Chinese government is getting ready for the new challenges in the coming future for the transformation in the economic market.
