East Asian Maths teaching method boosts English children’s progress by a month
For the past years, studies talked about the reasons why East Asian children excel very well when it comes to global education examination. The researchercites evidence in support of an idea about the outstanding results of their performance and found no reason but home setting and society have great influence. UK has come up with instructional techniques which are well-known in Singapore and other countries and it was publicized by political leaders in order to recreate the achievements of the educational structure in East Asia.
It is also observed if these duplicated teaching methods are effective in the classroom setting. The new study in teaching method that was presented in elementary and high school in England which is called “Mathematics Mastery,” has a little significant effect to children after one year. The said program has limited subjects compared to ordinary math lesson with higher scope. Before they proceed to the next math lesson, children are required to complete first the math the module they have started.
The teaching expert has been analyzing the “Mathematic Mastery” program for almost three years with the help of Anna Vignoles. The research has over 10,000 students’ participants at 90 primary schools which range from 5-6 years old in Year 1 and 50 secondary schools with students 11-12 years old in Year 7. Both groups were divided into two. The first part was introduced in the new teaching technique after orientation ad courses from the contribution of education welfare and academic support ARK. The other part was introduced to standard math teaching technique.
This teaching method had an assessment to know the significant result of the two casual supervised examination involving primary and secondary schools and financially supported by the Education Endowment Foundation.
