Youth Unemployment

The changing labor market has made it increasingly difficult for the youth to find decent jobs, and it’s a global problem where every country has a large number of youngsters who are unable to make the transition from education to a job. There are a number of reasons to this; poor qualifications and lack of work experience along with the Great Recession has left many graduates struggling to find jobs that suit their educational qualification and skills. Though the governments of every country is working towards resolving this issue, the next generation of youths will have to go through phases of unemployment compared to the youths of previous generations.
The reasons for the youths to find a job are many: the global economic recession of 2008 has hit the youth hard robbing them of stability in jobs. Many of them lack key skills and this is more prominent in developing countries. Industrial unrest and unplanned automation have also contributed to the situation growing worse and going out of control. It’s a combination of lack of skills, lack of coordination and lack of work that is making today’s youths face unemployment. Unemployment lowers the standard of living bringing in a lot of unhappiness, social unrest, and depression among the youth.

Steps need to be taken now to boost the chances of employment for young people around the world. Many young people are inclined towards entrepreneurship so this can be encouraged to give them a nudge and put them on the right track. Loan facilities can be provided to these youths so that they can start something on their own. Opportunities for those who do not have the skills while starting should be improved. While studying, the youth should be made aware of population control which also contributes to the current crisis of unemployment. More centers for vocational training can also resolve this issue by giving the youths of today proper training to work in industrial undertakings. Vocational training activity after school is helpful in making a smooth leap to a working life.
