Haze, which is one of the most polluted substance of the atmosphere, has a big influence on China’s environment. The ingredients of haze are dust, vitriol, nitric-acid, and stuff like that.PM2.5，which is particularly regarded as the “culprit” of haze is the pollutant granule that less than or equal to 25 nanometer. When haze combines with fog, the sky will darken immediately.
What’s the source of the haze? First, the automobile exhaust. The fuel vehicle, including bus and big haulage truck and so on, is the murder of exhausting PM10. Although gasoline-powered small cars emit gaseous pollutants, such as nitrogen oxides, they can easily be transformed into secondary particulate pollutants in foggy weather, aggravating smog. Second, the waste gas was produced by col heating in the northern winter. Third, the waste gas sent by industrial production. Fourth, the dust produced by construction site and road traffic. Nowadays, the pollutant emission in many cities are now at a critical point, and they are very sensitive to climatic conditions. The quality of the air can meet the standard when diffusion conditions are good. Once the adverse climatic conditions are encountered, the quality and the visibility of the air will decrease immediately. So how can we distinguish the fog and the haze is worth thinking, first, the fog is the micro-water drop floating in the sky, formed conditions needs to possess water vapour factors. Second, a simple way, the atmosphere is moist when fog appears, and the atmosphere is dry when the haze appears.
According to the materials, 500 cities of China, merely less than 1 percent of cities attain the air quality standards recommended by World health organization. The haze is the result of the interacting between particular climate and human’s activities. It was learned from the 2013 press conference of China that since the coming of winter, the haze generally staying above 5 days has occurred frequently in big parts of central and eastern regions.
Why we are afraid of the haze, the first reason about people’s healthy is that the haze may cause lots of diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease, cancer, people’s Fertility, blood vessels disease and stuff like that. Second，for traffic. The haze , which will decline the driver’s line of sight, may cause the safety of traffic. Third, the haze may have an influence on environment. It will cause a decrease of air quality and affect environment and bring a big damage for everyone.
How can we protect people from haze? There are several effective ways. First we can take breathing mask, which can prevent PM2.5 entering in your lung to keep healthy. Second, we are not supposed to open the windows during the haze coming, because the haze will vitiate some fresh air in our room. Anyway, the decrease of pollution is the most radical way to protect us, to protect the environment.
In the end, let us discuss about how to deal with the haze problem. In my view, we should know what causes the haze? No doubt, it is automobile exhaust. So i advocate that we should ride bicycle, which can also exercise yourself, take bus instead of driving cars. Maybe, for a few years, the blue sky will be shown anew for us, for all the humans.
